TO SETUP YOUR OWN FTP or HTTP (Webserver) @ your HOME.
(for dynamic ip 's)

Step 1:first get some good webserver software :

best is Apache (http://www.apache.org)

or Abyss Web Server [http://www.aprelium.com/]--> "if W*ndows"
(equally good and too small server--good for hosting plain html sites) .

FTP Server : Ftp server which comes with the Linux Distro is sufficient

Step 2:
go here http://www.dyndns.org/

and sign up for an account (its free)

then download any of their update clients from here :

Step3: set up the http server or ftp server .

make the required settings in FTP and HTTP Server .

then install the dyndns update client and login with your acount name
and say update

and there you are done !

you have your own webserver and ftp right at your home :)
